Next-Gen Text Adventure Code 7 Lands On Kickstarter
German indie developer Goodwolf Studio has launched the Kickstarter Project for their next-gen text adventure Code 7 on September 22nd. The first part of the game Episode 0: Allocation, which recently has been nominated for the Gamescom Indie Award 2016, has been released as a free download for PC, Mac and Linux as part of the Kickstarter launch. Code 7 is a next-generation text adventure that combines a fully-voiced narrative with immersive hacking-gameplay. Gather information, navigate and hack your way through the prologue of an five-chapter adventure. Describing Code 7, Goodwolf Studio has said:
“What would you do if you found yourself trapped on an eerie space station with nothing but a computer? You play the hacker Alex and help your partner Sam uncover the horrible truth of the facility. Code 7 is a next-generation text adventure that combines a fully-voiced narrative with immersive hacking-gameplay. Gather information, navigate and hack your way through the prologue of an epic, five-chapter adventure. It doesn’t take long until you have to ask yourself who Alex really is and if your reality is really what it seems to be.”
The game is set to have a number of features, including:
- Modern Feeling – Code 7 is a fully voiced text adventure, with animations, music and sound effects!
- Accessible – Don’t worry if you’re not a fast typer, the game will help you with auto-complete, maps and more.
- Symbiosis – Team up with the main characters of each episode. Talk to, navigate and protect them and in return they will help you.
- Epic – Travel through the universe to stop the deadly Code 7 virus over the course of six episodes.
- Atmospheric – Your mind will create the setting of the story. Let us show you how creepy things can be when you don’t see them.
- Multiple Endings – There are important choices you will have to make in every chapter which then determine how the finale, Episode 5, plays out.
- Around 8 hours of gameplay – Depending on your playstyle, each episode will have a playtime of around 1.5 hours.
