Nightwing Director Praises DCEU Approach Over Marvel Approach
Though they started about a decade apart, the MCU and DCEU are being compared with every film that comes out, especially in the light of Wonder Woman’s mega praised release. But some are wondering whether comparing them is fair, and to what end they should be compared. For Nightwing director Chris McKay, he thinks the approaches don’t boil done to scripts per se, but to the directors themselves that sign on with Warner Bros. and Disney.
“Warner Bros is a more director-driven studio. Period. The end,” McKay said to Metro. “More than any other studio you’re ever going to work at. Just look at the roster of world class filmmakers that have worked at Warner Bros and made it their home. Warner Bros is a director-driven studio, and that’s exactly how they are operating these movies.”
“That’s the kind of filmmaking you are going to see, and have seen with Patty Jenkins on Wonder Woman,” McKay continued. “That’s what they have done and what they will continue to do, and that’s why these movies are not trying to follow the Marvel model, they’re trying to do their own thing with filmmakers that they like, and produce things that are wholly original and wholly unique.”
It is an interesting view on things, and one that does have merit in some cases. In fact, Patty Jenkins was supposed to direct Thor: The Dark World, but creative differences made that not possible. Then, there’s the famous breakup between Marvel/Disney and Joss Whedon, which led to him not doing another Marvel film, and now being signed on with DC Comics to help with Justice League and direct Batgirl.

I think Marvel movies have fun factor though. I didn't liked Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman. I instead loved to watch something like Batman Dark knight type plot. Something that christopher Nolan would do. I'd love to watch that. Because they kind of lot better than wonder woman.
