NYCC 2017: Ray Fisher Doesn’t Think Justice League Deserves “Needless Negativity”
The upcoming Justice League film is a highly anticipated (and very important) film in the DCEU, beyond just bringing the League together, many fans feel that the film NEEDS to do well both financially and critically, not unlike what happened with Wonder Woman, which was one of the biggest hits of the year. But, due to behind-the-scenes issues, including the departure of Zack Snyder due to a family tragedy, many fans are skeptical that the film will be good.
However, Cyborg actor Ray Fisher states that while the situation wasn’t idea, people can expect the uptake by Joss Whedon to still be quality:
“They’re two very different people, but at the end of the day, they’re two very different people who basically want the same thing, and that’s to tell the best possible story for these characters and get them launched off into a really great direction,” Fisher said. “So what I think Joss has come in and done is that he’s found really good ways to bond the team, he’s found good ways to bond them organically, so it sets them up to go really anywhere in the future.”
Furthermore, he feels the behind-the-scenes events are causing unnecessary feelings:
“So for all the rumor mill stuff, listen. I think there’s a lot of needless negativity that I’m personally dedicating myself not to become a part of.”
Justice League arrives November 17th, and a new trailer will debut at New York Comic Con on Sunday.
