One-Punch Man: Season 1 Blu-ray/DVD Release in April
VIZ Media officially announced this week that the breakout anime smash hit, One-Punch Man, is getting a home video release on April 25. The show is currently available for pre-orders in multiple formats now.
The first season of the show will be available as Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack, Standard Edition Blu-ray, and a Standard Edition DVD set. Each set will have the first 12 episodes of the hit series in both its English dub, and the original Japanese language track with English subtitles. Pre-orders are available at most leading outlets and online retailers.
VIZ has also confirmed a special Limited Edition Combo Pack for the show at RightStufAnime.com. Fans who pre-order this version will receive a special gift with purchase, while supplies last.
The Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack is packed as a four-disc set with two DVDs and two Blu-ray discs. It will be packaged in a chipboard box with special printing. The Combo Pack also has a nice bonus, the six exclusive OVA anime shorts. The OVA shorts are an awesome extra, and they will only be packaged in the Blu-ray releases. The Combo Pack also comes with six full-color collectible art cards and a premium full-color booklet with episode summaries, character profiles, interviews and more. So, basically a nice little bonus artbook. The Blu-ray episodes will also be presented in 1080p HD video. The standard Blu-ray set features all the episodes in the 1080p HD presentation and the exclusive OVA anime shorts, and it’s priced at $49.99. The Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack is $59.99. The standard DVD set is $39.99.
The story follows Saitama, a young man who becomes a hero for fun. However, at one point after constant training, he becomes so strong that he can defeat any opponent with a single punch. However, after destroying all his opponents with ease, being a hero starts to become boring. A second season of the anime is currently in the works.
