Monster Hunter World Board Game Announced
Steamforged Games is the world-famous translator of video games into tabletop versions…previous products of theirs include board games based on Dark Souls, Resident Evil 2, Horizon Zero Dawn and Devil May Cry. Next year, you’ll be able to add Monster Hunter World to the list….the board game was announced this morning. Mat Hart, co-founder of Steamforged, admitted in a Polygon interview that turning Monster Hunter World into a board game will be one of the more challenging projects they’ve taken on. “Monster Hunter is very open-ended,” he said. “You can play it for forever and a day. And and we know that in a board game, that’s not going to work. There’s no sense of peril, there’s no sense of threat, You need a timer or you need a threat to kind of give a sense of value to the actions that you’re doing. Otherwise it becomes a bit of a grind.” The obvious solution was a device other board games that wish to create tension have used: a timer.

Metal Gear Solid Board Game Delayed Into 2021
Last year, IDW Games announced they were working with Konami on the creation of a Metal Gear Solid tabletop game. Said game was originally intended to be released this summer, but it’s been hit with several delays, and the latest — announced today — will push the game’s release into the summer of 2021. Supporting one to four players, the Metal Gear Solid board game will let you and your friends step into the roles of Solid Snake and his allies, sneaking stealthily through twelve missions with the fate of the world at stake. You’ll have several strategy options at your disposal…you can choose to sneak around guards, or quietly dispatch them. You can use Otacon’s hacking skills to disable lasers, cameras, and reroute the paths of guards. Or you can play as “that ninja” and just make your way through haphazardly with your sword. “We will not compromise our standards for the quality of game our community deserves,” said IGN in a public statement regarding the delay. “We are
Tokyo Home Stay Massacre Premieres Worldwide October 2
The Japanese indie horror studio Tokyo Bay Films is prepping its latest creation for release in the US and everywhere else. Tokyo Home Stay Massacre will get a simultaneous worldwide release in all major markets. The tale of hapless young people getting trapped in a middle-of-nowhere house with crazies is a well-worn one, first popularized in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and retold countless times since then. When America makes such movies, though, they tend to set them in the backwoods South. Does Japan — a much smaller, island nation — have an equivalent for such remote areas? This reporter wouldn’t know…chime in through the comments if you do. The plot: three American teenagers travel to Japan to party on vacation as well as to put their past behind them. Through a series of circumstances, they wind up staying in the home of an eccentric Japanese family, who seems friendly at first. But as the family’s behavior gets weirder, the teens start thinking they should perhaps make a run for it.
Eat To Win In Bite The Bullet
Mega Cat Studios claims they’ve now created the world’s first “run and gun and eat.” It’s Bite The Bullet, the arcade shooter where satisfying your appetite is the key to victory. If you’re shooting big monsters, why let them go to waste? Eat ’em and be nourished in more ways than one. Since you are what you eat, the species you primarily consume will evolve your body in new and strange ways — four branching skill trees are possible. Whenever you’re not running, gunning or eating, you can customize your weapons just like you can customize your body. You’ve got over three dozen enemies to taste, and over sixty areas to explore…so get shooting and satisfy your stomach! Devour enemies to power-up the player, weapons, and abilities. Chow down on everything – enemies, walls, even bullets. Gorge on 50+ levels solo or with a friend in local co-op. Four character classes (Carnivore, Herbivore, Omnivore, and Robovore – which means eating metal) that have their own unique abilities and perks. Character
Kill It With Fire Launches For PC
It’s an unavoidable part of every summer….you’re lounging around your own living room, when suddenly out of nowhere, SPIDER!!! Publisher tinyBuild and indie developer Casey Donnellan Games understand your pain and anxiety. That’s why they’ve developed KILL IT WITH FIRE, the first-person action game where your only goal is to squash spiders — with weapons way more than suitable for the job. You really will be able to kill them with fire — from a flamethrower. Or you can blow them away with a semiautomatic gun. Or toss ninja throwing stars. Or you can even activate a bomb and throw it at them, blowing up everything in the immediate vicinity (but getting rid of the spider). Keep in mind we’re not talking about the massive whale-sized arachnids that tend to show up in video games. These are normal-sized spiders, for the most part. You’re just living out a different kind of fantasy. An Early Access version of Kill It With Fire has been out for several months. This is the
Hitchhiking To The Edge Of Sanity Arrives On Amazon Prime
Scott Peterson, writer and director of the award-winning “Out of the Loop”, has just released his latest documentary, Hitchhiking To The Edge Of Sanity. In the early 70s, the Boomer generation found themselves cast into the unprotected world for the first time. Broke and directionless, they stuck out their thumbs, traveling the country and even the world through hitchhiking. Hitchhiking To The Edge Of Sanity is the true story of writer Dick Russell and photographer Steve Ewert on one of these trips….and it’s a doozy. It was late 1970 when Russell and Ewert left Kansas to travel across Europe leeching off the wheels of others. They have many adventures, sometimes with significant people — they pal around with writer James Joyce in his convertible, and share drinks with American diplomats in Brussels. But the craziest thing they ever attempted was to cross the Sahara Desert. Yes, they did this without a car. It took 36 hours standing in the sweltering heat with their thumbs out just to catch a ride,
Dead By Daylight Now Comes With Crossplay
Dead By Daylight is an asymmetrical horror game where one character plays the killer and four others play the would-be victims in its vicinity. The killer has invulnerability and can never truly be stopped, and depending on what character it is, may also have special abilities. The way to win is to escape, and to do so, the survivors must work together to unlock the path to freedom. But until now, said survivors all had to be using the same game-playing device. If your friend owned a PS4, you also had to own a PS4 to play the game together. No longer! Behaviour Interactive has added a new update to Dead By Daylight that supports crossplay. Now anyone can play the game with anyone else, even if they’re using different systems. The change is valid on all versions of the game: PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch and XBox One. “This follows a year of research, interviews, data analysis and the successful implementation of Cross-Play on Steam and Windows Store,” says Behaviour

Weak Hero Class 1: Friends Should Talk to Each Other
Weak Hero Class 1 is a high school K-drama about three (3) best friends and how their failure to communicate with each other led to tragedy. This Korean drama series was released in 2022, and even though there are only 8 episodes, each episode is intense. It is based on the popular Naver webtoon Weak Hero. The are three takeaways from this series: Friends should talk to each other; People should learn when to STOP! and Bullies are very predictable. ♦ At First, One is the Only Number Weak Hero Class 1 focuses on the fragile friendship of three (3) high school kids. Yeon Si-Eun is the “weak hero”, a model student who gets top grades and is obviously on the road to success. But he is a loner and it’s by choice. He doesn’t want to have friends. An Soo-Ho is a big kid with a big heart. He is also a skilled fighter. That’s good because his grades are nothing to brag about. However, considering that he also works more than
