Patty Jenkins Confirmed For Wonder Woman 2
Wonder Woman is a mega-hit at the box office. It had the biggest opening for a female-directed film, and has had the lowest dropoffs in comic book film history in its second and third weeks. It’s already passed 500 million earned worldwide and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop earning any time soon. Yet, despite all of this, there has been conflicting reports about whether Director Patty Jenkins, who was a big reason this film was a big success, would return. One said she was, the other said she wasn’t but was in negotiations. So which is true?
Well, Variety decided to ask DC’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns this very question, and he responded swiftly:
“Patty and I are writing the treatment right now,” said Johns. “The goal is to make another great Wonder Woman film. I had a blast making it with Patty the first time. We’ve got a cool idea for the second one.”
This is good, as Jenkin’s passion to make a great Wonder Woman film was what inspired many on the set to give it their absolute all, and both fans and critics agree that it worked. Many fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel, as well as Wonder Woman’s return in Justice League.
