PlayStation 4 delayed in Japan until 22nd February 2014
At the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia (SCEJA) Press Conference 2013 today, Sony has announced that the launch of the PlayStation 4 will be delayed until February 22nd 2014 for Japan.
Sony’s next gen console is scheduled for release in North America on November 15th 2013 and November 29th 2013 for Europe, putting the Japanese release nearly three months later. The company explained that the delay is due to the “availability of content and titles” and that Western and unique Japanese titles will only be ready by then. The console will launch in Japan for 41, 979 yen (excluding the PlayStation Camera).
On top of that, Sony has also announced the PlayStation First Limited Pack for Japan. The pack comes with a PlayStation 4 console, a code for a digital copy of Knack and will retail for the same price as a standard PlayStation 4 console.
