RAM Pressure Coming In 2019 To PC
Russian development studios GDT and QuadCom have announced their third-person multiplayer tactics game, RAM Pressure, will be released for PC and Mac in 2019 (via Steam).
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, there was a big gigantic Star War which resulted in a lot of explosions and loss of alien life. Millennia later, the scraps and fragments from this war have formed meteors and are passing through the Milky Way, some landing on Earth.
Alien artifacts can be found within these meteorites, and the knowledge gained from them could either revolutionize human civilization or destroy it. That’s why the governments of the world are keeping their contents hush-hush, and are locked in a competition with each other to track them all down.
In RAM Pressure you play one of these elite secret teams, sent to discover the truth about the meteorites and prevent your enemies from obtaining them.
- Experience intense tactical online multiplayer action across hotspots all over the world.
- Explore a deep plot and unique storyline built on both single-player and multiplayer missions.
- Upgrade your weapons and armor from a massive selection of 100 guns and 10 weapon classes – including high-tech and alien weapons.
- Customize your characters with 12 classes and 160 skills.
- Lay waste to the environment – for tactical purposes, of course!
- Enjoy procedurally-generated maps and day/night missions – along with changing weather conditions.
- Join clans and operate within a complex alliance system.
So what does this name mean anyway? RAM pressure is a physics term that refers to “a pressure exerted on a body moving through a fluid medium, caused by relative bulk motion of the fluid rather than random thermal motion.” This phenomenon occurs to objects that travel through the Earth’s atmosphere from space, like meteorites – the friction caused by RAM pressure is what makes them heat up. And now you learned something.
Unfortunately they picked a rather obscure scientific term to name the game, which every website other than this one is going to be cracking sexual jokes about. Hopefully it won’t be called “RAM Pressure” when it’s released in 2019, but that’s up to the Ruskies making the thing.
