Ratchet & Clank PS4 Re-Imagining Delayed to Coincide With Upcoming Film
If you were to name one of the key franchises in the early generations of the PlayStation, Ratchet & Clank would be up there without a doubt. The gaming franchise has had numerous titles, and is now set for a movie, which will release April 29, 2016. As for game franchise itself, there was a Ratchet & Clank PS4 game that was going to re-imagine the original title for a new generation. A post from the development team has stated that they’re pushing back the game to coincide with the movie. But fear not, there’s going to be a lot more in the game because of it:
“Insomniac Games is also hard at work at Ratchet & Clank for the PS4, a re-imagination of the original game that started it all 13 years ago,” Ryan Schneider, Chief Brand Officer of Insomniac Games writes. “The game, out Spring 2016, re-tells the origin story that ties in closely and expands upon the movie’s narrative. It also features several new levels along with reimagined classic locales like Metropolis, brand new weapons and completely redone visuals made possible by the power of the PlayStation 4.”
Schneider also apologizes for the delay, but notes it will not be time wasted. He added: “While you might have to wait a bit longer than expected, rest assured we’re using the time wisely to further polish the game to a spit-shine level, with dazzling shader response, awe-inspiring effects, velvety smooth animations, and spectacular new gameplay segments.”
So if you’re a Ratchet & Clank fan, you can still be excited. This title will be as fun as you remember it, and then some, when it comes out next year.
