Reptile Returns in Mortal Kombat X
Another “klassic” Mortal Kombat character is official for next upcoming installment of the franchise, Mortal Kombat X. Earlier today (Jan. 28), NetherRealm Studios revealed a new character trailer featuring Reptile for the video game. The new video below shows the first official footage of Reptile in action.
Reptile joins a roster for the classic and returning group of characters for the game that currently includes Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Kano, Quan Chi, Kano and Goro, who is a a pre-order bonus character. So far, the only confirmed new characters for the game are Cassie Cage, Kotal Kahn, D’Vorah and the combination duo of Ferra/Torr.
Reptile first appeared in the original Mortal Kombat as a hidden character before becoming a playable character in Mortal Kombat II. His design originated as a color palette swap for Scorpion, hence the similarity in the designs. Over the years, Reptile’s design has been tweaked to make him look more reptilian. However, the designs always seem to maintain some design elements that pay homage to Reptile’s palette swap roots. Reptile’s new design for Mortal Kombat X appears to be no exception to that idea.
Mortal Kombat X is due out on April 14 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
