Resident Evil VII’s Collectors Edition Has A House In It
Capcom has revealed its plans to sell a Collector’s Edition of its upcoming seventh mainline Resident Evil game. It’s at the higher end of limited editions with its $179.99 price tag, so what’s in it that’s purportedly worth so much?
How about a house? The Southern mansion you explore in the game has been recreated as an eight-inch-tall model to exact specifications…and it also doubles as a music box, playing “Go Tell Aunt Rhody” when the key is turned (the signficance of this song will be explained in the game, probably). The game itself is contained in a Steelbook case.
You also get a 4 GB USB drive in the shape of the detatched finger from a dummy (this is another thing that’ll make sense when you play the game), a lithograph of the Baker family’s portrait, a box in the shape of a battered and dirty VHS tape (the tape couldn’t be real?) and what Capcom is describing as a “Creepy Note.”
All of this is served inside a collector’s box with faux-wood paneling for a hundred and eighty dollars. This limited edition cannot be preordered yet, but we suspect hardcore RE fans will gobble up the stock within minutes whenever the line opens. Keep watching Amazon…
