Rogue One Director Stole Death Star Plans
In Star Wars: A New Hope, the whole basis for the Rebel attack on the Death Star is that a group of spies and soldiers stole the plans for the space station. Rogue One is the story of the group that did the deed itself, and the struggles that came with getting them. However, during a Q&A, documented by ComicBookResources.com. The one who actually stole the Death Star plans was apparently director Garreth Edwards.
“I stole the Death Star plans,” the director said during the Q&A
And by that, he means the literal prop of the plans for the Death Star.
“There was only one thing I wanted the whole shoot,” Edwards said when asked if he took anything from the set of Rogue One, “and the entire time I kept whispering to people, like, ‘Where do you keep that? Where will it be at the end? How do I get a whole of it? Can I have it?’ And they were like ‘No, this is going to be archived. This is a part of film history.’”
“So I obviously didn’t do this because then they’ll want it back,” joked Edwards, before fully acknowledging he took it anyway.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will release in theaters December 16th.

Okay, that has style! Better hope he's not Bothan: "Many prop handlers died to get him that information." Just keep those plans away from any agencies with TLA names, please? We don't want anyone getting ideas…
