Rumor: Assassin’s Creed 3 set during the American Revolution?
According to a supposed source close to the project the next Assassin’s Creed is set to take place during a tumultuous time during American history, the American Revolution.
According to CVG, a tip coming from a insider claims that not only will the new Assassin’s Creed take place during the conflict between British colonists and Native Americans, but it’s also supposed to feature a brand new protagonist. Whether this means a new protagonist in the past or the replacement of Desmond Miles is yet to be seen, though my bets would be sticking with Desmond as the protagonist whose memories we play.
The above isn’t entirely without precedent though as there have been some hints along the way that may point to that time period. The setting was first hinted at during the Da Vinci Disappearance DLC for AC: Brotherhood, as the player uncovers coordinates for New York USA. At a point in the newest iteration there are also strong suggestions in form of a globe hovering over North America that players would be headed there next.
In addition, George Washington also has been mentioned in the Assassin’s Creed lore as owning a Piece of Eden at some point, though the most convincing piece of evidence is in a poll Ubisoft held asking where people would want to see the AC series next and the American Revolution was one of the choices.
The leak states that these facts should be announced publicly sometime before March 31st. How do you guys feel about the time in period? Excited or think something else should have been visited? Let us know in the comments below.
