SDCC 2016: Google Creates Bubble Zoom Feature For Books
Despite the world claiming that digital comics are the future, there is an inherent downside to reading comics on digital platforms. If you’re not on a computer or decent sized tablet, the text of the comics can be very hard to read.
At San Diego Comic Con, Google unveiled the Bubble Zoom feature for their Play Books app. This feature will enhance the size of individual bubbles so that readers can understand what is being said, then shrink them down when they are done.
The feature is free for all who download the Play Books app. It’s only in “technical preview” mode at present, so it only works on graphic novels for DC and Marvel. However, Google’s aim is to have this for all books in the future. For a preview of what this looks like, click here.
