Sophie Turner Confirms New X-Men Film
X-Men Apocalypse was very divisive amongst fans, while some loved it, including us here at PopGeeks, others weren’t as big of fans. Mainly, they criticized the use of Apocalypse, the little use of Magneto after the opening act, and more.
This reflected in the box office total for the film, as it ranked really low compared to all the other X-Men films and spinoffs that have come out over the years. This led many to wonder whether the rebooted X-Men film universe would get another reboot. However, Sophie Turner, who debuted as Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse seems to have confirmed that not only is the next movie coming, it’s filming soon. For she told Hey U Guys:
“We’re about to start shooting the next X-Men,” Turner told Hey U Guys, “we’ve just finished shooting Season 7 of [Game of] Thrones, and I’ve got a couple of movies to do before X-Men starts. And then we go on to Season 8.”
This is very interesting, as there were rumors that there was going to be another X-Men film, even going so far as it to be codenamed “Dark Phoenix” in some booking documents, but Fox itself has not confirmed the film to be coming. But this seems to seal it!
The real question now is, who all is returning? Many characters from the original three films in this reboot had said that Apocalypse was their last one under contract. Many like Mystique, Beast, and more may not be coming back. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
