Spider-Man Solo Film Set In Marvel Cinematic Universe
When Spider-Man was confirmed to be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, yet would still have solo films under the Sony banner, it raised a lot of questions. Mainly, would his debut in the MCU be a one-trick pony, and then would be distanced from it once he did the solo films?
Though stated before, Marvel movie head Kevin Fiege has reiterated that not only will the Spider-Man solo films be in the MCU, but characters from the MCU could crossover into them.
“He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth,” Feige said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly
He also reminded that though it’s a Sony film, the Marvel team will be helping with it.
“Well, we’re producing it for Sony. It’s exciting, and we’re treating it like we treat all of our films,” Feige said. “To try to make the best version now of Spider-Man and a version of Spider-Man that inhabits this universe that we’ve created.”
Now as for who will be coming to the solo films, rumors have been rampant about Captain America and Iron Man coming in some capacity, and was basically confirmed by the actors during an interview. Whether this happens, and to what extent, remains to be seen.
Spider-Man will make his Marvel movie debut in Captain America: Civil War on May 6th.
