Star Wars 1313 Is "Not Forgotten"
There are always casualties in war, that’s how the old saying goes, and it’s no different in the world of video games. Often, the “war” is merely a company folding, or getting bought out, or being forced into a new direction. The war on staying alive if you will. Well, for Lucasarts, when it was bought out by Disney, there were casualties. For most fans, the biggest casualty was Star Wars 1313, a game which was set to star classic character Boba Fett, and would feature the underworld of popular planet Corusaunt.
In an interview with Slash Film, Kathleen Kennedy of Lucasfilm noted that Star Wars 1313 is still on their minds, as it was she would brought it up in the interview:
“No. No, interestingly enough, thats an area we’ve spent a lot of time, reading through the material that he developed is something we very much would like to explore. And there was 1313 the game, where there was….”
The interviewer immediately went into talking about it, where she noted:
“So our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to.”
So could Star Wars 1313 be made still? It just might, Star Wars Battlefront seems to be selling well, and with the movies set to return, it could be the catalyst to see the game made again.
