Street Fighter V: New Tutorial Teaser Video
Earlier today, Capcom Unity released a new tutorial teaser video for the upcoming latest installment of the Street Fighter franchise with Street Fighter V. You can check out the new tutorial clip, which features some new gameplay footage, in the player below.
The new clip gives an idea of what some possible story cutscenes for the game will look like. They are fully voiced, but the images are done in a still, graphic novel type of format. They are not animated or with animated CG model characters. In the clip, a young Ryu and Ken get some words of wisdom from their sensei, Gouken. The video then offers a look at the tutorial mode for the game’s fighting mechanic. The story hearkens back to Ryu learning how to harness his chi and learning Denkin Renji.
Per a statement by Capcom, the publisher is hoping this will be the most accessible installment of the franchise ever: “Our goal with Street Fighter V is to make this the most accessible Street Fighter in recent years! To that effect, we’ve created a tutorial (opening shown above) which introduces the basics of Street Fighter as well as the new mechanics included in SFV. As you’ll see, this video also provides a glimpse into some of Ryu and Ken’s backstory. This is just a sample of things to come, so be on the lookout for more information down the road.”
Street Fighter V was recently confirmed for a February 16, 2016 release. The game will be available exclusively for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
