Super Mario 4 Domain Name Registered
Nintendo has, as of April 3rd, registered the domain name of supermario4.com. While currently just pointing back to Nintendo’s main page it’s been confirmed that Nintendo has indeed laid claim to the site name.
Originally reported by an IGN reader, the rumor could mean an number of things. Most fans are hoping it indicates a new numbered game in the series, the last one being Super Mario 3 (which was epic in case you didn’t know). It wouldn’t be out of the question as Nintendo has stated it wants to bring a new 2D adventure to the 3DS/Wii U, returning to Mario’s roots. Whether this will be a 4-player co-op title or a traditional single-player affair is of course all up in the air.
On the other hand it could just be inevitability. Sort of like Square-Enix claiming finalfantasty15.com or something of that nature, we all know it’s going to happen really; Just a question of when. We’ll keep you up to date on any breaking news regarding a new numbered iteration of Nintendo’s flagship title, though it’s likely we won’t hear anything else till E3.
