Imagine the 1993 Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day was set in a gore splattered Haunted Hospital Halloween Maze and you have Inoperable, a frightening February release from Zorya Films and ITN. This time-bending horror adventure by writer/director Christopher Lawrence Chapman has some interesting ideas and the star power of horror icon, Danielle Harris in front of the camera, but does it deliver the scares? Let’s enter the operating room and begin our invasive procedure on this freaky flick. Most people feel uneasy in hospitals to begin with, maybe it has to do with facing our own mortality or the promise of enough jello-o and creamed corn to choke a camel that sets us on edge. Either way, it’s no ones preferred vacation spot. So the choice to set a horror film in a building where intense bodily harm and disease are prerequisites for entry makes total sense. Inoperable, starring horror scream queen Danielle Harris, opened in theaters last month for a limited run. If you couldn’t catch it there, it’s heading to home video formats soon…DVD, VOD on-demand and digital HD. Harris stars as Amy, a woman who wakes up in an abandoned hospital. With what little resources she has, she gathers that there must have been an evacuation while she was out due to an approaching hurricane. But that’s not the only problem! The powerful forces of nature have somehow awakened sinister supernatural forces, who for reasons unknown want to trap Amy in the hospital forever via a time loop. Between monsters, the fourth dimension and an oncoming hurricane, she’s got a lot on her plate to deal with. Inoperable also stars Jeff Denton and Katie Keene (no relation to the Archie Comics character). It was directed by Christopher Lawrence Chapman from a script he co-wrote with producer Jeff Miller. The DVD will be out February 6 and include a commentary track with Chapman, Miller, Denton
