Pokémon Sun & Moon Are Biggest Nintendo Launch In UK History
The latest release in the Pokemon franchise is the biggest launch for any Nintendo property in the UK, with the games managing to beat out the likes of Wii Fit and New Super Mario Bros. in terms of first week sales. Pokémon Sun and Moon occupied two of the top five spots in the UK charts, beaten by just FIFA 17 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. However, when combining the two games, the total sales numbers are a staggering 368,000 – putting them firmly at the number one spot in the charts. This is nearly twice as many units as Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire when they released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2014. Meanwhile, the launch of the new instalments in the series were also incredibly successful across continental Europe.
