Jurassic Park Gets 30th Anniversary 3D Re-Release
Even though Jurassic Park was pretty much THE movie of 1993, and I was alive and sentient for 100% of 1993, I couldn’t see it. The media had given it a reputation as being “too scary” for children, and though a lot of parents ignored that warning, my mother swallowed it whole. Finally my dad offered to take me on the very last day it was screening in Portland. My mother forbade it. I would eventually see the film, but many years later on network television with ads. Wasn’t the same. I didn’t get a real chance to see Jurassic Park on the big screen until twenty years later. In 2013 a 3D conversion of the film was made and it was put back into theaters to drum up anticipation for the upcoming sequel Jurassic World.
