When ABC announced they were pushing Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD into the summer, we figured they meant we wouldn’t know what happened to the crew until June. Fortunately, today we received confirmation the sixth season will begin a bit sooner than that. The linked tweet below is, on its surface, nothing but PR fluff: a Valentine’s Day video consisting of nothing but kiss scenes and flirty dialogue from the previous season. First Look At Agents Of SHIELD Season 6

The opening moments of this trailer for Agents of SHIELD Season 6 don’t dance around it, and get right to the point: “AGENT COULSON IS DEAD,” they display in giant white letters. Throughout Season 5, SHIELD leader Phil Coulson slowly rotted away from a terminal disease, but told no one, holding the opinion that any attempt to save him would be a distraction from the larger issues (like stopping the whole world from blowing up). SHIELD saved the world, but as the credits rolled on the season finale, Coulson’s fate was left up in the air. Now we know, definitively, that Coulson is absolutely, positively, without a doubt……wait, never mind, this is a comic book world. Indeed, it doesn’t take long for shenanigans to occur in this trailer. Mack has stepped in as leader in Phil’s absence, and he’s having a rough time of it. Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD Picked Up For A Seventh Season

ABC just announced Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has been granted a seventh season — which came out of nowhere and shocked us all. For those of you who are wondering why: the season that finished airing last May was the fifth. The sixth season hasn’t aired yet, and possibly hasn’t been filmed yet. It’s scheduled for a summer run. Generally, when networks that aren’t The CW shove a show into the summer months, it means they’ve lost all confidence in it and are just burning off the remaining episodes before they cancel it. Just about everyone was certain Agents Of SHIELD wouldn’t live past Season 6…especially when you consider how much has changed since the program started. Marvel was just beginning to dabble in live-action TV projects when SHIELD was conceived. The idea was to bridge the big-screen movies with events on the TV show in between. Since then the plan has mutated and changed directions multiple times. The connections between the movies and SHIELD have mostly been dropped. Marvel

Agents Of SHIELD Season 6 Won’t Begin Until Summer 2019

No sooner do we finally get some good news from this Upfronts season than we have some cold water splashed upon our heads: there will be a sixth season of Agents of SHIELD, but we’ll have to wait an entire year to see it. Why? Well, in case you haven’t noticed, the show has been hinting that the events of Avengers: Infinity War are happening in the background of the current season. That means the season finale could very well end in the same manner that the movie did….and if that’s the case, SHIELD would wind up spoiling Avengers 4 if it had to deal with the fallout before the big screen could. ABC president Channing Dungey spoke to TV Line and denied such a strategic move, claiming the summer placement was entirely the network’s idea. Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD Survives The Purge

This latest week of television news has been nasty, with cancellations being fired out left and right and casualties piling up like soldiers of war. Brooklyn Nine-Nine only survived the chopping block because fans pleaded with its executioner to let it live. Other shows with less active fanbases weren’t so lucky. Thus we’re pleased to report that, somehow, Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD survived the bloodbath and will be returning next season, thanks to Daisy’s quick thinking, a formula from FitzSimmons and a last-minute bullet-time rescue from Yo-Yo. Good work, guys! This latest season sure feels like it’s rushing to a definitive conclusion, with romantic tensions being resolved and characters having conversations like “Remember when X and X and X happened?” The latest villain is an all-powerful Uberman destined to blow the entire planet apart if the Agents can’t find a way to stop him. Agents Of SHIELD Shoved To Fridays Next Fall

It’s been a bumpy few years, but as of Season 4, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has finally become compelling, must-watch television. So naturally ABC picked this time to bury it on Friday evenings at 9 PM. We should be happy we get a Season 5 at all, but this makes us uneasy. Adding insult to injury is the fact that it’s FOLLOWING Once Upon A Time at 8, which if you didn’t know, just had two-thirds of its main cast leave. There is barely any life left in it now, and the odds of this zombie show helping, rather than hindering, SHIELD’s chances of viewership are low. ABC has ordered 22 episodes of SHIELD for the 2017.2018 season and eight episodes of The Inhumans, the other Marvel series we previously mentioned. The Inhumans will air its episodes first, in the same time slot, and then SHIELD will take it from there. It’s very strange that ABC would go to the expense of creating an IMAX release for the first two
