Bandai Namco has announced an upcoming strategy game for mobile devices based on SD Gundam. It will be the latest in a long, long line of Gundam-related games from the Japanese developer. In SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL, you command a squad of Gundam units from an overhead view on grid-based maps. As you fight and win skirmishes, you’ll not only level up your team but obtain new Gundams, soldiers and warships to become more powerful. Thee is a “development game system that will actually let you create new Gundams using your existing ones. Over the last few months, Chinese company XD Inc. has been building up T3 Arena, a 3 on 3 shooter in the spirit of Overwatch, for the mobile market. The game is currently in Early Access form on TapTap, a mobile game distribution platform with over 70 million users. As of now, two more hero characters have just been added to the playable lineup: Hunter and Judex, along with additional maps and modes. XD says, “Hunter and Judex have both introduced new hero mechanics into T3 Arena’s fast-paced gameplay. For example, Hunter’s burst-fire rifle brings classic shooter mechanics into the game for the first time. With his ability to quickly knockback an enemy, Hunter provides a new set of gameplay dynamics in both short and long range situations.” Several of the maps have also been revised as of this update, sporting improved graphics and a more blatant connection to the storyline of T3 (which hasn’t been revealed yet). Last summer, Error300 Games released Mosaic Chronicles, a unique puzzle game where the main task is assembling pieces of stained glass to create art (and reveal parts of a story). Until now the game was a PC exclusive, but it’s soon coming to mobile devices too. On each screen, you’re given a canvas and many pieces of stained glass. Each piece will only fit in one spot, and you must find it, much like a cardboard puzzle (but prettier to look at). The art you’re assembling illustrates two stories from author Olga Gromyko: “A Bit of Horoscoping” and “The Lucky Knot.” Each completed piece tells a part of the story and you’ll learn more as you play. Here’s the deal with the mobile version, though: it’ll arrive only half-completed. Just one of the two stories (Horoscoping) will be available to play; the other will be added as an update later on. There’s a new Mega Man X game out? Well, kinda. It depends on your definition of new. Mega Man X Dive originally appeared as a mobile game in 2020, and is only just now being ported to the PC. Like the mobile version, it costs nothing. In the futuristic world of Mega Man X, the cyberworld known as “Deep Log” has begun malfunctioning. Mavericks have invaded the cyberspace and are rapidly corrupting data! It’s up to you, playing as X or other characters from the series, to leap, shoot and put an end to the viral invasion. This being a mobile title, it has gacha mechanics and won’t give you your favorite characters from the start. They must be earned, either through grinding or making the game non-free.
