PlayStation Home Will Shutdown in March
PlayStation Home will shutdown on March 15, according a post in the PlayStation forums by Sony earlier today. New content will no be published on November 12. “PlayStation Home has been serving the PS3 community since December 2008. During that time, tens of millions of users around the world have grown the social gaming platform into a thriving community of creative and enthusiastic gamers. Due to a shifting landscape, PlayStation Home will cease publishing new content on November 12, 2014,” states the press release. U.S. and Canadian gamers will be download content until December 3. As a sign of gratitude, Sony will release a series of free content before PlayStation Home’s closure. The Japanese counterpart was also recently announced to be shut down in March. The platform entered open public beta testing in December 2008. There are currently no plans for a PlayStation 4 version.
