In a surprise move, Call of Duty frontman Robert Bowling has resigned from his positions of Infinity Ward Community Manager, effective immediately. Bowling, whom was also Creative Strategist for CoD 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3, posted the following to Twitter yesterday under his alias FourZeroTwo: “Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision.” At present, his motivation for leaving the company is unknown. However, some are already wondering whether or not Respawn Entertainment, the development studio formed by ex-Infinity Ward leads Jason West and Vince Zampella, is in any way involved. Infinity Ward responded to the news amicably by wishing Bowling all the best for the future. So do we.
