Not all of us will be able to experience Super Nintendo World when it opens soon in Universal Studios Japan. But the next best thing is to be given a thorough tour of the area from Shigeru Miyamoto himself! Nintendo uploaded a new video this morning where the creator of the Mushroom Kingdom showed off its real-world counterpart in all its glory. The first thing Miyamoto revealed is that you enter Super Nintendo World through a horizontal warp pipe, and since the innards of a warp pipe had never been figured out before, there was a lot of discussion within Nintendo about this element alone. They decided on a pattern of streaking lights across the walls, which couldn’t have been THAT hard. The warp pipe puts guests in the lobby of Peach’s castle, where they’re greeted by paintings on the walls that change depending on the angle you view them from (Bowser Jr. pokes his head out of one, for example). Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts shared some new details today on the early insights on their upcoming collaboration. Last year, Nintendo and Universal revealed a partnership that would bring Nintendo-themed attractions to Universal theme parks. You can also check out a new video released on the historic collaboration below. The new video features footage of Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Universal Creative’s Mark Woodbury on the upcoming attractions for Universal Parks & Resorts. The effort will bring in larger-than-life Nintendo attractions to the parks. This includes Nintendo-themed areas at Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. According to Universal Studios, these areas will be expansive, immersive and interactive. They will include highly themed and authentic environments that will offer multiple attractions, shops and restaurants. The hope is that attendees will feel like they are inside their favorite games. During The Game Awards 2014, Nintendo revealed some new gameplay footage for The Legend of Zelda Wii U. In a video with Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma, we saw how large the world will be. The gameplay footage began with Miyamoto and Aonuma explaining how you can explore anywhere you can see. After marking a specific point on the map, which was displayed on the Wii U GamePad, Link jumped off a cliff using the Sailcloth, an item we last saw in Skyward Sword. We then saw Link riding Epona through a forest, as Aonuma explained you will hardly have to touch the control stick to maneuver. The footage finished with Aonuma showing some horseback combat, and how you can aim and shoot arrows in slow motion.
