When Stan Lee left Marvel Comics in the 1970s, he started his own version of the Spider-Man continuity in the form of a newspaper comic strip. Lee was credited as writer, though the precise level of his creative contribution over the years is unknown. Beginning on January 3, 1977, the strip has now been going for 42 years….which begs the question, what’s going to happen to it now that Stan The Man is no longer with us?
By now you’ve seen the news all over the Internet: Stan Lee hung on for a solid 95 years, but today was the day we finally lost him. His full unshortened name was Stanley Lieber, and he entered the comics industry at its very beginning, finding employment at what was then called Timely Comics in 1939.
Joan Lee, Stan The Man’s longstanding wife, died today at age 93. She and her husband were married a whopping 69 years, and according to accounts, were “hopelessly devoted to each other.”
Recently, during the launch of the Captain America featuring Steve Rogers, who had given the mantle to Sam Wilson after being trained of the super soldier serum, it was revealed that Steve Rogers was a sleeper agent for Hydra. Apparently.

Stan the Man recently made his pick at Edmonton Expo (you can hear it via the video below), and not surprising to many, he chose a certain star-spangled hero.
For creating superhero comic books, you’d be hard pressed to look far beyond advice on a certain subject than the one and only Stan Lee, who has made numerous characters and comic over his decades long career. Stan the man talked with IGN and they asked about how to create new superheroes in a world full of them, so he lent them his wisdom.
