Star Wars Battlefront DLC Gets Free Weekend

Electronic Arts and DICE (via Gamerant) are offering a special holiday deal this weekend for the Star Wars Battlefront Death Star DLC. Players who participate in said event will be able to get some XP and credit rewards. This includes a Death Star DLC free trial. The Death Star Free Trial weekend is going to run from December 23-25. The trial includes all the maps and modes that were originally released for the DLC expansion. It’s unknown though if that means players will have access to new playable hero characters Chewbacca and Bossk. Additionally, this coincides with the Holiday Double Score event for Battlefront. As of now, players can earn some bonus rewards when they log in for the event in the aforementioned time period. Players will receive a one-time credit of 5,000 bonus points. They will also receive double XP when they play matches for the event. Overall, this seems like a good strategy and way to get people to play some more Battlefront over the holidays. Especially when

Electronic Arts and DICE released a new gameplay trailer recently showcasing some new footage for the third digital expansion pack for Star Wars Battlefront. Dubbed Death Star, the new DLC pack will offer new maps, new weapons and Star Cards for Battlefront players. You can check out the new trailer in the player below. Two of the newest hero characters who will become playable are the bounty hunter Bossk from The Empire Strikes back, and of course, the favorite Wookiee of every Star Wars fan, Chewbacca. EA is set to allow players of Star Wars Battlefront to try out the upcoming Bespin DLC for free before its release. According to the publisher, anyone who has the game and an active Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership will be able to download a trial of the new content between the 19th and 21st of August and then again between the 12th and 18th of September. The Bespin DLC has already been available to Season Pass owners for the past few weeks. It is the game’s second piece of downloadable content that players have had to pay to gain access to it. EA and DICE this weekend revealed a new digital expansion pack for for Star Wars Battlefront in the Death Star DLC. Battlefront has been at the forefront of rumors and speculation as of late. Mainly around rumors of an offline mode coming to the game along with new levels and heroes. EA has not only confirmed these rumors, but has officially blocked out the release for the upcoming months. First up, there is an offline mode coming, it is called Skirmish, and according to lead designer Dennis Brannvall it “offers players the option to play offline against bots in a solo mission or with a friend using co-op split screen (console only.)” The mode will arrive on July 20th. During an earnings call this week, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 is in development (via Gamespot). The EA executive dropped some details on the game, saying that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will have “bigger an better worlds” than the original. It will also use content from “the new movies.” Previously, Star Wars Battlefront only focused on content from the original Star Wars Trilogy, but it did have The Battle of Jakku DLC, which featured the planet Jakku from Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. Electronic Arts has officially announced the new Outer Rim DLC for Star Wars Battlefront, which i set to launch later this month. This will mark the first paid expansion for the game, and it will feature two new playable hero characters in the form of Greedo and Ninen Nunb.
