Focus Home Interactive released a new trailer this week for the upcoming Cyanide Studio sequel, Styx: Shards of Darkness. You can check out the new “Art of Stealth” trailer, with new gameplay footage, in the player below. The game is set to arrive in March as a multi-platform release. The new trailer shows Styx countering Elven defenses with a stealth attack that sees him using throwing daggers, knives, traps, and even chandeliers to distract and kill his enemies and steal the coveted Quartz, a source of magical power. Styx has his strengths boosted by the magical Amber that flows throughout his body and grants him magical abilities. These include amber vision, short-lived invisibility, and the ability to clone himself. The upcoming sequel also introduces crafting to the franchise, and Styx can create tools and gadgets to distract, disable, and kill his foes. Cyanide Studio and Focus Home Interactive revealed a new gameplay trailer this week for Styx: Shards of Darkness. The new trailer is available in the player below, featuring three minutes of new gameplay footage. Additionally, Cyanide confirmed today that preorders have kicked off for the game, which is due out in March 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The new trailer also features a look at Styx’s new tools, abilities and three different game locations: Wildoran the hunters’ village; the secret Sanctuary of the Dark Elven city Korrangar; and Thoben, the city of thieves. In the new game, the titular goblin is back with new climbing abilities. The new story will also be told with cinematics, and the gameplay will have an enhanced bestiary, more side-missions to play through and new sneaking and assassination skills. Focus Home Interactive released a series of new screenshots today for the upcoming sequel, Styx: Shards of Darkness. You can check out the new images for the upcoming game in the gallery below. Click on the thumbnails to see the full-size images. The sequel to Cyanide Studios’ stealth hit game, Styx: Master of Shadows, is due out early next year for a multi-platform release. The new images showcase the heavily guarded Port of Korrangar, airships in flight, and the impish nature of Styx. So far, the new images and environments are looking very impressive. In the new game, Styx is set on an adventure to steal an ambassador’s scepter. So, he goes to the City of Thieves Thoben. He agrees to the deal in exchange for some magical amber. However, the job soon takes some unexpected twists and turns, and Styx is put through a dangerous world of shady politics and powerful magic. Styx will have new abilities in the game, including the ability to instantly teleport into a newly hatched clone.

Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios released a new gameplay video today, which debuts the first video footage for Styx: Shards of Darkness. You can check out the new video in the player below for the sequel, which is due out next year. The video features Cyanide Studios CEO Patrick Pligersdorffer saying on the game: “With this new episode of Styx we updated our engine from Unreal 3 to Unreal 4. This update has brought so much to the Styx series, from graphical enhancements to new gameplay mechanics and features. The engine transition has required some time for our team to adapt to. We’re dedicated to providing the best stealth experience possible for players, so in agreement with our publisher Focus, we are delaying the game until the first quarter of 2017.” The new footage shows off some of the new graphics for the game, which were developed using Unreal 4.
