Sonic Is Playable In Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD arrives in just two weeks, and Sega confirmed a little surprise today to spike pre-release interest: Sonic the Hedgehog is an unlockable character in the game. This wasn’t the case in the original Banana Blitz, which came out on the Nintendo Wii and used motion controls. This one thankfully does NOT use motion controls, but retains all 100 levels, ten multiplayer minigames and all the boss battles. And now, Sonic! He looks great, especially since they elected to go with his classic design. Bulbous belly, big shoes and all, he blazes through the stages in this video, where all the bananas have been changed to rings: It’ll be interesting to see how the Hog handles on some of these stages. We would bet his speed would make some of the more confined, twisty stages harder to play. The video exclusively shows straight tracks that someone like Sonic would have little problem with.
