First Casting News From The Librarians: The Next Chapter
Ever since the new owners took over, The CW has mostly ceased to be relevant to the average Popgeeks reader, focusing on Canadian imports and golf instead of the weird fantastical programs we used to get. However, they’re not ENTIRELY done with weird. There was a surprise order last year of a new series in Dean Devlin’s long-running Librarians thingamajig. The Librarians (originally The Librarian, singular) started as a series of TV movies on TNT starring Noah Wyle as an initially reluctant caretaker of the Library, the secret place where all the magical artifacts of the world are stored. Three movies were produced in the 2000s, followed up by The Librarians series in the 2010s. While Wyle’s character still served as the Librarian, you didn’t see quite as much of him; instead the focus went toward his new staff of semi-Librarians led by federal agent Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn).
