Venom 3 Gets New Title, Release Date
Sony came forward with a new title for Venom 3 this morning, as well as a bump-up for its release. The sequel is now called “Venom: The Last Dance” and will be out October 25 of this year. Previously, Venom 3 was scheduled for November 8, 2024. Take your guesses as to what “The Last Dance” means. We’re struggling to think of any dancing-themed villains in Venom’s rogues gallery. The one thing we do know is that it definitely doesn’t mean this is the last Venom movie, no matter what they say. This is the only “extended Spider-man universe” thing Sony has had any real success with. They’ll be back. We might’ve gotten this movie even sooner, had there not been an actor’s strike midway through filming it. Production started early last year but was derailed by the SAG-AFTRA walkout; all actors returned to set at the end of November. Shooting wrapped in February; VFX and post-production work is next.
