The Cursed makes Werewolves scary again
The Cursed is a historical horror set in the 1800s somewhere in Rural France. In real life, there had been stories about encounters with the so-called werewolves. Despite the lack of proof of their existence, the legend and the folklore made people from the past believe they are real. This LD entertainment film managed to bring back the mystique and dread of the werewolf lore. It is written and directed by Sean Ellis who is known for the film Anthropoid. Werewolves had been sexualized by more recent media that the folklore lost it’s edge. The pacing of the movie is fast but it never runs short when it comes to character development and world-building. In Video Games werewolves became filler enemies. After being watered down in different genres of fiction, This film was originally titled Eight for Silver when it was released at the Sundance film festival. The New title is more subtle and doesn’t give away the fact it’s a film about werewolves. There is promise and
