Team Flash Will “Go On The Offensive” In Season 3
Much of Season 02 of Flash has dealt with Barry Allen reacting more than acting in regards to the villainous Zoom and the arrivals from Earth-2. In a chat with IGN, Carlos Valdes talked about this notion of them always being on the defensive, and whether that could change next season.
“I think, yes, naturally Team Flash is always on the defensive. I think this brave new world is still very new, very fresh, and so it makes sense that they would be on the defensive considering all sorts of new and mysterious threats constantly present themselves while metahumans run amok on every Earth. It makes sense that Team Flash is constantly on the defensive. It’s a very defensive position, really, to be a world-saver; to fight crime and be a superhero. But I think fans can definitely expect Barry to be on the offense in some capacity in Season 3. That’s all I’m going to say.”
Also, the tease of tonights return of the Particle Accelerator is not going to be liked by Team Flash outside of Barry:
“It’s an absolutely terrible idea. It’s absolutely insane. I think Cisco feels that way as well. The team — and Earth-1 in general — has been backed into a corner. Zoom’s crazy, psychotic games have left them with no other options but to try to get Barry’s speed back, and ultimately it has to become Barry’s choice. Regardless of where members of the team stand on this plan and whether they should follow through, it’s Barry’s choice to make. He’s the hero. It’s his body. It’s up to him if he wants to take the leap.”
