The Punisher TV Series Cast Grows
Marvel Entertainment today confirmed a number of new actors for the upcoming TV series for The Punisher on Netflix, which is slated to debut next year. In total, five new cast members were confirmed for the upcoming show, along with the characters they will be playing.
Actor Daniel Weber will portray Lewis Walcott, described as a “young veteran who has had a difficult time re-assimilating into Civilian Society.” There’s Jason R. Moore, who will join the cast as Curtis Hoyle, an old friend of Castle. Hoyle actually knows that Castle is still alive. Paul Schulze has been cast as Rawlins, a villain from The Punisher comics, and a high-ranking member of the CIA whose operations in Afghanistan cause him to come across Frank Castle. Also, Jaime Ray Newman plays Sarah Lieberman, the wife of the character named Micro (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). Unfortunately, marriage with Micro has just made life a lot more difficult for her. Finally, Michael Nathanson will play Sam Stein, an agent of Homeland Security who has been challenged by his partnership with Dinah (Amber Rose Revah).
Speaking on the casting news, showrunner and executive producer Steve Lightfoot stated: “We couldn’t have asked for a more talented group of actors to round out the cast of Marvel’s The Punisher. It’s a thrill to watch them each bring their characters to life with such layered, nuanced performances.”
Executive producer Jeph Loeb added, “Marvel TV is very proud of the cast of The Punisher. Each actors brings a special promise who surround Jon Bernthal’s exceptional performance.”
Jon Bernthal stars in the show, reprising his role as Frank Castle aka The Punisher. Also, Deborah Ann Woll returns as Karen Page. The first two episodes will be written by Steve Lightfoot. Jim Chory serves as executive producer alongside Lightfoot and Jeph Loeb.
Marvel’s The Punisher will arrive on Netflix later in 2017. All 13 episodes of the first season will be available on the streaming service at launch. The show is produced by Marvel TV in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
