Theatrical Poster For The Nightmare Gallery Revealed
Seraph Films and AWOL Studios are now completing post-production work on their new horror feature, The Nightmare Gallery. They aren’t ready to show the trailer yet, but they did reveal the poster this morning. It’s lookin’ good….and, in our opinion, worthy of display in a gallery itself.
The best thing about this poster is the layered reaction it generates. For the first few seconds you have no idea what you’re looking at; then gradually you notice the elements that make it up. First the hand, then the upside-down ankh, then the face, then the note the hand is holding, and finally the hieroglyphics embossed on the face.
Gene Blalock, director and founder of Seraph Films, remarked “I’m so excited about the poster, as it really feels like it captures the film’s balance between cerebral horror and dramatic, emotional torment.”
As for what all this is supposed to represent…
The Nightmare Gallery follows an anthropology professor as she investigates the sudden, suspicious disappearance of her star pupil. A mysterious collection of occult artifacts leads her on a nightmarish, Da Vinci Code-esque journey toward an unspeakable truth that will threaten her career, her marriage, and her sanity.
Amber Benson, best known for Tara on Buffy, plays the professor. Other cast members include Kevin Chamberlin (Road to Perdition, Jessie), and Mat Devine (former front man of the rock band, Kill Hannah). The Nightmare Gallery currently has no release date, but we expect one to be revealed soon.
