Three New Horror Flicks To Debut At Cannes
October Coast has provided a list of movies they’ll be premiering at the Cannes Film Festival this month, two of which we have mentioned earlier. Three will premiere in all:
ASTRO: Directed by Asif Akbar and written by Akbar and Bernard Selling, this movie tells of a billionaire’s private space exploration program returning to Earth with an abducted extraterrestrial from a newly discovered alien planet. The movie stars Louis Mandylor, Max Wasa, Omi Vaidya, Luke G. Crosby, Orson Chaplin, Gianni Capaldi, Spice Williams-Crosby, Courtney Akbar, Christopher Showerman and Michael Pare. (ITN distribution/Sony Home Pictures Entertainment)
CANARIES: a sci fi horror comedy from Welsh writer/director Peter Stray, it’s about a group of friends at a New Year’s Eve bash in the Welsh Valley who must fight against an invasion force of time travelling aliens. It stars Robert Pugh (Game Of Thrones, Doctor Who, Master & Commander) and Hannah Daniel (Netflix’s Hinterland). (Devilworks)
THE RESTAURANT: a supernatural horror comedy set in New York, executive produced by Kris Maxx and written and directed by Eric Ford-Holevinski. An average man named Andy manages an Italian eatery, where in exchange for business he feeds undesirables to a demon in the basement. Everything was going smoothly…until the busboy found out. (Devilworks)
These three films will make their big-screen debut at Cannes, and will appear on DVD and VOD platforms later this year.
