Tom Holland Isn’t a Fan of Spider-Man Suit
Tom Holland made audiences cheer during Captain America: Civil War this year when he played what many believe to be the most comic accurate version of both Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Now, he’s set to star in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the first Spider-Man solo movie that’ll technically be tied into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Though Holland loves being Spider-Man, he apparently isn’t crazy about the costume itself. “The suit’s not the greatest thing, but sometimes when it’s uncomfortable, you just have to remind yourself of the long list of actors that would love to be in that suit and you just go, ‘do you know what, f**k it. I’m the luckiest kid alive,’” Holland said at Saturday’s New York Film Festival, as reported by ComicBook.com “‘I deserve to be here and I’m going to give it my best.’”
As if to make up for this, Holland insisted on doing many of his own stunts for the film, including ones he at first wasn’t comfortable with: “I did as many [of the stunts] as I could, but there are some things legally that I couldn’t do,” said Holland. “There were stunt doubles who were all very, very talented guys who really supported me throughout the process. Whenever there was a stunt that I didn’t necessarily feel comfortable about, they would step in and show my how to do it, and coach me through the process.”
Spider-Man: Homecoming arrives on July 7, 2017.
