Wasteland 2 Kickstarter raises in excess of $3m
inXile Entertainment, the American development studio formed by Interplay Productions Founder Brian Fargo, has been donated more than $3 million to produce Wasteland 2.
In addition to $111,598 pledged through PayPal at time of writing, the game’s Kickstarter accumulated $2,933,197 from more than 60,000 backers, netting Fargo an astounding $3,044,795 to fund his direct sequel to the 1988 cult classic first published by Electronic Arts.
The inXile boss has enlisted the help Fallout: New Vegas designer Chris Avellone and RPG specialist Obsidian Entertainment to assist in Wasteland 2’s creation, as well as Alan Pavlish and Mike Stackpole (the original game’s primary designers) and Mark Morgan (Soundtrack Composer for Fallout and Fallout 2). Furthermore, none other than Fallout Co-Creator Jason Anderson will be responsible for writing the narrative.
Fargo’s project is expected to launch sometime next year. Stay tuned to The Paranoid Gamer for updates.

What fantastic news. I was really hoping they’d break 3 million by morning.
