Who Wants To Crowdfund Some Raccoon Madness?
Here’s a game whose three German creators say was inspired by “Tim Burtons art, [an] old USSR game and Texas Holdem Poker.” It’s Raccoon Madness, where all the cards are crazy spoofs of popular media. It’s currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter and is nearly at its funding goal with a full month left to go (28 days; that full month is February).
Some of the oldest and most enduring card games in history have had “lying” mechanics, such as Poker. Raccoon Madness plays as a combination of Poker and Go Fish, where the goal is to get rid of all your cards, but to do so requires a good bluff or two.
Cards are divided up among two to four players. The first player sets one to four cards from his deck face-down on the table and declares what he claims those cards are. The next player then has to either match those cards from his own deck, pretend to match those cards, or call a bluff and hope it was one. It goes around the table like that. The first one to guess incorrectly has to take all the cards on the table.
Raccoon Madness will come in two sets when it’s released: the Core version, which contains jokes and parodies for all ages, and a “NSFW” version recommended for ages 25 and over (dang, 25? How profane must they be if they’re not appropriate for a 24-year-old?)
You can get your own copy and start some Raccoon Madness with your friends by contributing to the Kickstarter.
