WWE 2K17: Bill Goldberg Joins the Roster
The march to WWE 2K17 has finally started. 2K Games officially revealed the first details for the game this week. It wasn’t a surprise the game was announced, since this is an annual game series. The announcement for the title included the news that former WCW and WWE world heavyweight champion Bill Goldberg will be in the game. Goldberg will be the pre-order bonus character, and you can check out the reveal trailer for Goldberg that 2K Games released below.
Goldberg is definitely a welcome addition to the WWE 2K franchise, considering his place in wrestling history, especially the Monday Night Wars. It will especially be fun to get Goldberg’s trademark entrance and movesets back in a WWE game again. Hopefully, Goldberg’s inclusion means his relationship with WWE could be on the mend, and with that, Goldberg could do more appearances with WWE, including joining the WWE Hall of Fame. Case in point, the late, great Ultimate Warrior joined the WWE 2K roster before a Hall of Fame induction.
WWE 2K17 is due out later this fall. The game is being developed for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. It’s possible a PC release could happen later on. WWE 2K16 was released on Windows PC earlier this year, but one won’t be available at launch. It should be interesting to see who else joins the roster in the coming months. Hopefully, Goldberg is just the tip of the iceberg of the wrestling legends to appear in the game.
