Xbox One: Major Nelson Explains Backwards Compatibility
Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb and Microsoft have released a new video explaining the backwards compatibility of the Xbox One for Xbox 360 titles. The backwards compatibility feature will be part of a new system update that will be arriving very soon. You can check out the new video featuring everything you will need to know about how to finally enjoy your Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One below.
In the video, Hryb explains to FLitz of Smosh Games all the details of the backwards compatibility for the console. There will be a new tab with the upcoming Xbox One Experience update next week. It will then show all the backwards-compatible Xbox 360 titles that were digitally downloaded. Gamers will need to put the disc in the drive every time you want to play in order to play physical games.
There will be over 100 or so Xbox 360 titles that will be playable on Xbox One through the backwards compatibility feature. Microsoft will announce that list of games on Monday, November 9. The new Xbox One Experience dashboard update which will allow for backwards compatibility arrives on November 12. It will be interesting to see how well this works out for the Xbox One and if Sony PlayStation will maybe try to follow suit with the PlayStation 4 and backwards compatibility for the PlayStation 3. One of the PlayStation 2’s better features was its backwards compatibility with the PlayStation.
