YouTube Launches Mobile Streaming
Even though YouTube has become to go-to destination in terms of video content, the site has been slow to introduce new features in recent times. Services such as Periscope, Facebook, and Twitter have already been allowing their users to stream video content from anywhere using their mobile devices, but YouTube is now jumping fully onboard by launching their own version of the service.
The Google-owned company had already tested the feature in small-scale last year and is now ready to launch it on the site. The only catch is that it will only be available to channels that have more than 10,000 subscribers. Everyone else will have to wait a bit longer before the feature is launched site-wide.
By all accounts, the YouTube mobile live stream works in much the same way as its rivals. Users can stream content directly from their smartphones or tablets, in both portrait and landscape while viewers can comment using the live chat functionality.
