A.K.A. Jessica Jones Gets Expanded Series Synopsis
Marvel is truly firing on all cylinders right now. Age of Ultron is a box office blockbuster, Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter were recently renewed, and their latest attempt at bringing back one of their classic heroes, Daredevil, was met with fan and critical approval, thus getting it renewed.
The next step of the process in regards to Marvel/Netflix’s collaboration is the upcoming A.K.A. Jessica Jones series. Thanks to Amazon.com, we now have a fully written out synopsis for the upcoming show from a hardcover companion book that will launch in conjunction with the series.
“Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need…especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.”
Personally, I find this intriguing on many levels, as it’s very much a contrast to what Daredevil was, which is important. Instead of a woman wanting to save her city, she’s apparently one going through a lot of pain and suffering and decides to help out those who need it. It will be fun to see what this series will be like when it releases later this year.
