Are There TWO Infinity Gauntlets in the MCU???
Ok, this isn’t fully confirmed, but it is an intriguing thing if it is. Allow me to set the stage.
WARNING!!!: Spoilers for Age of Ultron about to happen!!!!…you’ve been warned.
So, in Age of Ultron, after the credits (or at least the first half) rolled, we were treated to a short but sweet scene involving the one and only Thanos pulling out the Infinity Gauntlet and saying, “Fine, I’ll do it myself.” This is inferring that he’s tired of pawns doing (and screwing up) his job, and thus will collect the Infinity Stones himself.
No problem right? We knew it would come to this, but according to Kevin Feige (via Cinema Blend), there’s a wrinkle in this tale. Mainly, the gauntlet isn’t the one we know exists in the MCU. Feige stated, “There are two different gloves. That was not Odin’s vault that you see at the end.”
If you recall, in the original Thor film, there was a blink-and-you-miss-it moment where the Infinity Gauntlet was shown in his vault. That is the one Feige mentions above. So that begs the question, where did Thanos get the glove he pulled out in Age of Ultron?
For the record, there’s only been one Infinity Gauntlet in the comics, thus the reason this is a big deal. If there are two, where did they come from? How did Odin get one, and Thanos get the other? Will these two gauntlets be the core of the struggle in Infinity War? Questions abound, and something tells me we won’t get the answers soon.
