Justice League Action Animated TV Series Announced
The Justice League will return to TV in a brand-new animated series, Justice League Action, that is coming to Cartoon Network. Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network and DC Entertainment officially announced the new show today. The new show will once again feature DC’s Holy Trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman all on the team together.
In the new series, the legendary heroes team up against their most infamous foes for adventures packed with thrills, fun and action. The show will only be a quarter-hour series, which means each episode will only be about 11 minutes in length. The intent here is to start each 11-minute episode with lots of action and heroics. While Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are all on the team, Justice League Action will feature an “always-rotating” team of heroes.
Fans should also be ecstatic to hear that some fan favorites are returning to play some iconic characters. Kevin Conroy, who has been the voice of Batman and Bruce Wayne across multiple animated movie and video game projects since the early 1990s with Batman: The Animated Series, will once again return to voice the Caped Crusader, Batman. What else? Mark Hamill will be back in the role of The Joker. It seems his intention to retire in the role of The Joker did not last very long. Also joining the show will be James Woods as Lex Luthor, Diedrich Bader as Booster Gold and many more DC heroes and super-villains.
Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!) is executive producing the show along with Butch Lukic (Justice league, Batman Beyond). Alan Burnett (Batman: The Animated Series) and Jim Krieg (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) are producing the show. You can check out some promotional artwork for the series below. The release date for Justice League Action will be announced later on.
