The Legend of Zelda: Evidence of Twilight Princess HD Found Lying Around
After all the leaks we’ve had over the years, you’d think game companies would learn to clean up images and coding pointing to unannounced releases. Even if they seem walled off to the general public, if something is THERE someone is always going to find a way to see it. Always. And two days ago somebody found an unused icon in the Nintendo eShop that showed the Link/Wolf-Link painting and had the filename “Twlight-Princess-HD.” This suggests there is an HD version in the works for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Then today further evidence was found when “Twilight Princess HD” was discovered in a list on Nintendo’s eShop servers. Eurogamer reported it all and wondered if it was true.
If Twilight Princess is about to be rereleased, that’s good and bad news. It’s good because people vastly prefer the non-motion-controls version of the game, which can only be had in non-widescreen 480i on the Gamecube (and if you want to buy that version NOW, it’ll cost you plenty). The game looks amazing on the Dolphin emulator and wouldn’t need any enhancements if the resolution were upped. Whether Wind Waker needed all those bloom effects is debatable, but Twilight Princess definitely needs a rerelease.
On the other hand, it’s bad because…..well, think about what it means. Nintendo admitted they put Wind Waker HD out as filler until the next Zelda was ready. If they’re putting out Twilight Princess now, that means the new one is still a LOOOONG way off, possibly even delayed for the NX.
Nintendo declined to address the rumor to Eurogamer, and we know they won’t talk to us. We’ll see what the coming months bring in announcements regarding The Legend of Zelda.
