Marvel’s Luke Cage to Premiere September 30 on Netflix
The premiere date for Marvel’s Luke Cage series has finally been confirmed. Star Mike Colter dropped the tidbit this week at the premiere for the second season of Daredevil this week. You can check out that reveal in the video below. The first season of Luke Cage will premiere on Netflix on September 30.
Considering that Daredevil Season 2 is arriving about a month earlier than last year, this is about a similar amount of time as the wait in between the first seasons of Daredevil and Jessica Jones. It does beg the question of when viewers can expect the already announced second season of Jessica Jones to arrive? In addition, the Netflix plan for the Marvel shows is two shows a year. Can that schedule really be maintained when Iron Fist is gearing up its production for a 2017 release? Not only that, where will the new season of Jessica Jones fit in? It it comes out before the end of 2016, that already essentially defeats the notion of “two Marvel shows a year.”
Still, it’s definitely exciting to see how the excellent Marvel Netflix shows are progressing, with Daredevil Season 2 about to hit next week. All 13 episodes of Luke Cage’s first season will be available to stream for its September 30 launch on Netflix. Mavel’s Daredevil Season 2 premieres on Netflix on March 15.
