Street Fighter V: Karin Returns to the Roster
Capcom has revealed another roster member for Street Fighter V at the Tokyo Game Show with the return of Karin, the heiress of the Kanzuki family. You can check out the new reveal trailer for Karin in Street Fighter V in the player below.
Karin has not appeared in any Street Fighter game in the franchise since Street Fighter Alpha 3. Two years ago, she came in at No. 7 on a worldwide popularity poll for Street Fighter characters, making her a highly anticipated and much-wanted addition to the roster of this game. Obviously since it’s been a while since Karin Kanzuki’s last appearance, she has been redesigned and given a new play style for the upcoming game. In Street Fighter V, Karin is the young heiress to the Kanzuki Zaibatsu global financial conglomerate, which possesses vast wealth and resources. Karin’s persona is that of a pampered and high-maintenance rich girl with a razor-sharp wit. However, she is also a true martial artist who is obsessed with reinforcing her family motto, “In all things be victorious!” She and her family combined numerous martial arts to create the “Kanzuki Style” of fighting.
In Street Fighter V, Karin will have a wide array of strikes and a new dash move to let her close the distance with her opponents. Karin’s V-Trigger allows her to perform her signature Guren Ken multi-string attacks and variations. When players hold down the buttons, they can charge the move for a split second, giving it better hit and block properties.
Street Fighter V is due out in 2016. The game will be available only for Windows PC and PlayStation 4. Players who pre-order the game will receive online beta access.
